Our “Engage” Classroom design was selected by Education Market Association as one of two exhibit hall classrooms to be featured and used for educational sessions at the 2017 EdSpaces conference in Kansas City.  We wanted our solution to inspire the learners and address the uniqueness and diversity of each individual.  We incorporated elements of nature and engaged the senses through visual imagery, scent, and sound, providing an opportunity for increased creativity, focus, and memory. The space was grounded by a spiral-shaped herb garden with low soft seating to encourage a sense of community.  A variety of flexible furniture options radiated from this center, supporting individual, small, or large group learning.  Technology was used to enhance learning, allowing the facilitator to move freely and engage with students throughout the classroom.
